Quite justifiable, the city has been declared a treasure of world civilization by UNESCO. Trier is Germany's oldest wine-growing centre. Famous vineyard estates and celebrated wine producers are headquartered here so it also pays to become acquainted with the subterranean realm of the Trier sommeliers! Take the scenic route along the Moselle with a wine tasting in one of the charming villages. Go on to Cologne where you will arrive in the early evening. Day 5 Cologne – Koblenz – Rüdesheim

In the early afternoon board a steamer for a Rhine river cruise from St. Goar to Rüdesheim, passing fascinating castles, ruins and the legendary Loreley rock.
