Depart Frankfurt for a picturesque tour through the Spessart Mountains to Würzburg, on the banks of the River Main. Continue along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg, Germany's well presserved 'Jewel of the Middle Ages' with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by famous woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. On arrival in Rothenburg, transfer by taxi to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening, join the city walk a local guide or historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg. Overnight at Hotel Spitzweg or similar.

Spend the morning at your leisure. Early in the afternoon, transfer by taxi from the hotel to your coach stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing through such picturesque places as Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen and Donauworth, with its high gabled houses and cobbled streets. Continue through Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for its old trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, arriving in Munich at approx. 8pm. B
